Yala ("Yala", "we", "us") is a community bulletin board. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Yala.

1. We are a platform, not a provider

Yala only hosts listings posted by members: events, tutors, babysitters, businesses, charities, marketplace items, and restaurant deals. We do not organize, run, inspect, sponsor, endorse, employ, license, background-check, or supervise any person, business, organization, event, item, or offer listed on Yala — including those marked "verified", "featured", "sponsored", or "approved". Those labels mean only that a listing passed a basic review for obvious spam; they are not a guarantee of identity, safety, quality, licensing, insurance, religious compliance (including any halal or dietary claim), price, or legality.

2. You interact at your own risk

Any meeting, transaction, hiring, childcare arrangement, tutoring session, purchase, sale, donation, payment, or event attendance arranged through Yala is strictly between you and the other party. You are solely responsible for vetting the other party, meeting in safe public places, verifying credentials, licenses and insurance, inspecting goods, and complying with the law. Yala is not a party to any such arrangement and has no obligation to mediate, refund, or resolve disputes.

3. Content is user-generated

Listings, photos, prices, dates, addresses, phone numbers, and descriptions are supplied by members and may be inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, or fraudulent. We do not verify them. You are responsible for everything you post, including having the rights to any photo you upload, and you grant Yala a non-exclusive licence to display it in the app. We may remove any content or suspend any account at any time, for any reason, without notice.

4. Prohibited use

Do not post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexual, discriminatory, misleading, or infringing; do not sell weapons, drugs, alcohol, counterfeit goods, recalled items, animals, or anything else you are not legally allowed to sell; do not solicit money by deception; do not scrape, spam, or misuse other members' contact details.

5. Subscriptions

Paid business and member subscriptions grant access to optional features only. Features may change. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable, and we make no promise of any particular level of visibility, traffic, attendance, sales, or results.

6. No warranties

Yala is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, safety, or non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service, or that data will never be lost.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yala and its owners, operators, moderators, and volunteers are not liable for any injury, death, illness, property damage, theft, fraud, scam, harassment, financial loss, missed event, childcare or tutoring incident, foodborne illness, defective item, or any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of Yala or from any interaction with another member. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim will not exceed the greater of twenty US dollars (US$20) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

8. Release

You release Yala from all claims, demands, and damages of every kind arising out of or connected with any dispute between you and another member or third party.

9. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Yala and its operators from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your conduct, your listings, or your violation of these terms or of any law or third-party right.

10. Not professional advice

Nothing on Yala is legal, financial, medical, immigration, or religious advice. Listings by lawyers, insurance agents, tutors, or other professionals are advertisements only; consult a qualified professional before acting.

11. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account, and you confirm the information you give us is true.

12. Changes, law, and disputes

We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the update. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
